Emotional Regulation, Interpersonal Effectiveness, Distress Tolerance and Core Mindfulness. Dialectical Behavior Therapy Program for Self-Injuring Teens Short-Term Treatment for Lifetime Skills Program A 16-week intensive program based on Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), teaching coping skills to adolescents in the following areas: Core Mindfulness Learning to be in control of your own mind, rather than allowing your mind to be in control of you. Distress Tolerance Learning how to get through difficult moments without making things worse. Emotion Regulation Learning cognitive and behavioral techniques for reducing vulnerability to emotional stressors, and for enhancing the ability to cope with them. Interpersonal Effectiveness Learning how to negotiate more effectively for what you want, how to say no, and how to decide when to do so. Finding the Middle Path Learning how to live a balanced life.
